Sometimes we don't really know what is behind the walls until we get there.... This mold removal in Horsham, PA gave us a bit of a start when we opened up the wall. While we are always prepared, we are also sometime surprised.
The holidays may be long behind us, but spring is seemingly nowhere in sight. That leaves us in the in between time where frozen pipes can happen. This could lead to your having a need for our emergency plumbing services in Willow Grove PA, or otherwise nearby. If we arrive and remediate quickly, we can significantly reduce the damage to your home and property. Did you know that your insurance company requires that you do your best to minimize the damage once it is discovered ? If you discover a broken/frozen pipe, you will want to shut off the source of the water to the leaking pipe. You must contact your insurance company immediately, then contact us and we will take it from there. We are here 24/7, equipped to handle whatever emergency you might encounter.
Many types of mold can cause reactions. There was a small "hysteria" created around black mold several years ago. However, there are other types of mold that may cause adverse reactions. That is why we test! We are doing a mold inspection today in Philadelphia, PA. Indoor humidity should be below 45 percent, one of the things we will be checking today.
Our 2nd call for this year came from a woman in Croydon, PA requesting a mold inspection and testing. She was concerned about a signs of mold in her home. We gave her some information on how to proceed, and she was grateful for the direction. It's not always about making a "sale", sometimes, a little education can go a long way in helping a homeowner make a decision. We are always here to help.
Sorry, we aren't trying to scare anyone. But, if you own a home in Philadelphia, PA, it probably has mold in it. It is present almost everywhere, indoors and outdoors. So, why test at all? Good question. There are acceptable levels, and unacceptable levels. A mold testing done in Philadelphia, PA can provide you the information that you need to make an educated decision on whether you need to take action in your home, or if levels are acceptable to you and your family. If you do request a mold test from Philadelphia Disaster Restoration, Inc., you will receive a complete report on the levels of mold inside and outside your home. We will not just perform a test, but will also go over the results with you in terms that you can understand. That is one of the many differences between PDR and companies that just collect mold and submit it for testing. Our staff will interpret the results of your test, and provide you with real options for solving your problem, if you have one!
We have decided to mix things up a a bit at Philadelphia Disaster Restoration. Maybe throw in a little fun fact in our blog.
For today, our fun fact for today is that research has said it would take 57,000 years to read all of the information on the internet! That's crazy, but the stat came from the internet so it must be true. Often called "black mold", stachybotrys chartarum can produce allergens and irritants. If you suspect that you have a mold issue, your best course of action is to make sure you do not disturb it, and get a mold test as soon as you can. We did a mold test in Newtown PA recently. We suspect that they have a mold problem there, and will test to see what types of issues they may be facing. They had a water intrusion several months ago, and the home was not treated for mold at that time. The first step, of testing, will give us more information on how to proceed.
Happy New Year from our first job of 2019, a mold testing in Plymouth Meeting PA. Hope you and your family have had a great holiday season!
